We have had skiing lessons with Jerome Lacoste for the past 4 years and would never choose anyone else! We range from a nervous Mum to an over-confident teenager and Jerome has been responsible for teaching all four of us from scratch with the right balance of skilful instruction, fun and encouragement depending on our ability. Thanks to Jerome, our son is now confidently skiing blacks with the best and we are all still enjoying it! Jerome is the most professional instructor on the slopes and is visibly held in high regard by everyone he meets! The Horsfall Family, 2005-2009

A little anecdote from Jerome: My wife Rachel, 31, went skiing with her family for at least 2 weeks every year from the age of 2 (between her father's legs). Having been skiing every year for over 20 years you can understand that she felt she was an excellent skier on-piste – could get down any pistes, some trepidation in the couloirs, but hey why not! Off-piste “I don’t know how to, I keep falling over” but up for a laugh and always game. The first year we met we went skiing in Tignes with her sister ... I am assured that the phrase I used was “You ski like a tourist”! Her sister was (almost) better than her. 5 years down the line Rachel is my biggest advocate ("c’est normal" you might say) but having in reality had very few lessons and requiring just a couple of weeks of intensive training Rachel could easily pass the Test Technique and the Eurotest to become a standard ski instructor and off-piste is no longer a worry. (I might add that her sister is no longer in the same league but I’m hoping she’ll come on a few group lessons with us this winter!) The moral of the story? If you’re not steady off-piste then there are techniques on-piste that need to be corrected. The same fundamental techniques apply for both on and off-piste. A lot of skiers may contest this; saying that there are different fundamentals for the 2 different types of snow. We think that in both situations you are affected by the same force: gravity. So we believe that by using the same fundamentals it is then a simple question of adapting your strategy to control this same force, gravity.
Hi Jérôme, ...Thanks again for a great week, the off-piste was well worth the climb!... See you next year,
My daughter Lizzy and I have had private skiing lessons with Jerome during the last 5 years. Jerome has the ability to very quickly assess your level of skiing and your faults and to properly understand what it is you want to get from the lesson. Jerome has helped us to improve our skiing with excellent teaching techniques and has always had the highest regard for safety, especially on our off piste adventures. Rob
